Huntingdon competes in Central Regional wrestling tournament

DUBUQUE, Iowa. – The Huntingdon wrestling team won one match and finished 11th in the 13-team Division III Central Regional Tournament on Saturday.

The Hawks finished with 2.5 points. Region champion Wartburg scored 167.5 points and runner-up Luther College scored 127.5 points.

Brewer Gilliland won Huntingdon's only match with a pin in the 149-pound weight class. Gilliland lost his first-round match but pinned Augustana's Matt Sears in the consolation bracket. Gilliland recorded the pin in 2:49.

Gilliland was eliminated in the next round by Cornell's Trevor Engle. Engle finished third in the 149-pound weight class.
