DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Huntingdon wrestling program won four matches and finished 13th in the 15-team NCAA Division III Central Regional Tournament on Saturday.

DeAndre Beck's sixth-place finish in the 141-pound weight class led the way for the Hawks. Beck's finish is the highest by a Hawk during Huntingdon's three seasons of NCAA competition.

"We're really excited for DeAndre and his results today," head coach Craig Duncan said. "This is the first time a Hawk has placed in the Central Regional Tournament and that has us excited. I believe the program has some talented wrestlers and is headed in the right direction."

The junior won three matches, winning one in the championship bracket and two in the consolation bracket. Beck took his first match in a sudden victory, 10-6 win. Beck advanced to the quarterfinals but lost a 4-1 decision.

In the consolation bracket, he won his first two matches. Beck picked up a 12-2 major decision win and followed up with a 7-6 decision. In the consolation semifinals, Beck lost a 3-2 decision before being pinned in the fifth-place match in 1:23.

Mason Blakeney was the only other Hawks to earn in a win. Competing in the 133 weight class, the sophomore lost his first match by technical fall. In the consolation bracket, he followed up with a pin in the final seconds to advance to the next round. Blakeney closed his day with a loss in the fourth round of the consolation bracket.
