Huntingdon competes against pair of NAIA teams

MONTGOMERY, Ala.  – The Huntingdon wrestling team lost to two NAIA wrestling programs on Tuesday.

The Hawks fell to Thomas More University 25-16 and lost to Life University 40-0. Life is the 10th-ranked team in NAIA and placed third in the NAIA national tournament last season. Thomas More is not ranked but is receiving votes in the NAIA national poll.

Two of the Hawks' losses against Life (149 pounds and 285) and one against Thomas More (184) were against nationally ranked wrestlers.

Four Hawks earned wins in the Thomas More match. Quintez Pearson (149) won by major decision, Kaleb Fontenot (157) won by pin, Jayson Spencer (165) won by decision and Joseph Pearson (285) won by decision.
