Hawks split in Ozarks Duals

CLARKSVILLE, Ark.  – The Huntingdon wrestling team split in the Ozarks Duals on Saturday.

The Hawks fell to the University of the Ozarks 31-21 and beat Ottawa University 25-21.

Quintez Pearson (149 pounds), Kaleb Fontenot (157) and Jack Haury (197) led Huntingdon with wins in both matches.

Haury's win by major decision in the 197-pound weight class clinched the win against NAIA Ottawa.

In addition to Haury, Pearson and Fontenot both won by pin, Gabriel Pittman (165) won by decision and Andrew Smith (125) won by forfeit.

Against Division III Ozarks, Fontenot, Haury and Jayson Spencer (165) each won by pin and Pearson won by decision.

 

Coming Up: Huntingdon returns to action on Feb. 2 in Lebanon, Tenn., in the Cumberland Open.
