Huntingdon wrestling names new assistant coach

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon College athletic department announced the hiring of Marvin Galette on Monday as an assistant wrestling coach.

Galette will assist head coach Matt Oliver with the seventh-year wrestling program.

"Marvin Galette is what you want from an assistant," Oliver said. "He always shows up to work with a positive attitude and is willing to work hard no matter what the situation is. I am truly excited to have Marvin back with me. He wrestled for me at Spartanburg Methodist College and knows what it takes to be successful."

A 2020 graduate of Campbellsville University, Galette was a three-year member of the Tigers' wrestling program and earned a bachelor's degree in health and physical education.

Galette qualified for the NAIA national tournament as a junior and senior. In 2018, he was the Campbellsville Athletics Redshirt of the Year and was a team captain in his final season.

Before Campbellsville, Galette began his collegiate career at Spartanburg Methodist. In his one season with the Pioneers, Galette was a team captain, qualified for the NJCAA national tournament and won the Spartanburg Methodist Athletics Award.
