Huntingdon sweeps Allen and Kentucky Wesleyan

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon wrestling team won two matches on Saturday for a sweep on Senior Day.

The Hawks opened the day with a 48-4 win over NAIA Allen University and ended the day with a 31-15 win over Division II Kentucky Wesleyan.

Kiefer Bangham (165 pounds), Gabriel Pittman (174), Jayson Spencer (184), Jack Haury (197) and Joseph Pearson (285) won their weight classes in each match. Haury recorded a pin in each match for the Hawks.

Against Allen, Huntingdon won nine of the 10 weight classes. In addition to Haury's pin, Jacob Smith (149) and Spencer (184) also earned pins. Loki Ryan (125), Michael Mort (141), Bangham (165) and Pittman (174) each won by technical fall, Tyler Tanaka (133) won by major decision and Pearson (285) won by forfeit.

Against Kentucky Wesleyan, Haury won by pin, Bangham won by major decision, Pearson won by decision and Kaleb Fontenot (157), Pittman and Spencer each won by forfeit.
