Lady Hawks fall to Warren Wilson in soccer season opener

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's soccer team battled Warren Wilson through a scoreless first half, but gave up a goal in the 55th minute of a 1-0 loss on Friday night.

The game was the Lady Hawks' first under the lights at Samford Stadium.

Huntingdon limited the Owls to just six shots. Bianca Canizio accounted for four of Warren Wilson's shots, including the goal.

Huntingdon took 12 shots, with four shots on goal. Abi Olmeda and Clara Tapplin each took three shots for the Lady Hawks (0-1).

Brittany Houseman and Katie Bonner each played a half at goalie. Houseman had one save and Bonner had three saves and one goal allowed.

Huntingdon hosts Johnson University on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Huntingdon soccer field.
