MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's soccer team claimed its first win of the season on Friday night, defeating Judson College 3-0 under the lights at Samford Stadium.

The Lady Hawks (1-1-1) outshot the Eagles 23-1 in the win and recorded 13 shots on goal.

Freshman Reilly Feeney scored the game's first goal in the 21st minute off a deflection from the Judson goalie. Feeney ended with five shots, two shots on goal and one goal.

Jenna Maschino added the Lady Hawks second goal off a penalty kick in the 40th minute. The Eagle's goalie earned a yellow card after tripping Shelby Clark who was on a break-away.

Jazmin Martinez had a game-high six shots with five shots on goal. Clark recorded three shots.

Head coach Matt Gill earned his first victory as a head coach, but said he was happier with his team's performance in the second-half than picking up his first win.

"The girls did what we talked about at half-time and I was very happy about that," Gill said. "We connected more passes in the second-half and I was happy with our offensive shape. The win is great and hopefully there will be more as we move on. We need to continue to work on the small details of the game to be more successful."

The Lady Hawks scored once in the second-half with a goal from Abi Olmeda in the 71st minute. Huntingdon had a chance to put a fourth goal on the board late in the game, but a handball nullified the goal.

Sophomore keeper Leah Leach faced one shot all game and posted her second shutout of the season in Friday's win.

Huntingdon opens USA South Athletic Conference play on Sept. 17 against Agnes Scott at 2 p.m. on the Huntingdon soccer field.
