Covenant too much for Lady Hawks

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's soccer team lost to Covenant College 5-0 on Friday night.

Covenant (9-2-0, 7-1 USA South) currently leads the USA South Athletic Conference West Division while Huntingdon (3-6-2, 2-5-1 USA South) sits in sixth place.

Covenant scored twice in the first-half, first in the 12th minute and once again in the 38th minute and held Huntingdon scoreless.

The Lady Hawks took four shots in the opening-half while Covenant took seven.

Covenant built a 3-0 lead in the first four minutes of the second-half and scored twice more to put the game away 5-0.

Reilly Feeney placed both her shots on goal while Madi Critcher had one shot on goal. Camryn Carter and Clara Tapplin each took one shot.

Leah Leach recorded three saves and allowed five goals.

Huntingdon takes on Maryville tomorrow for a 4:30 p.m. conference matchup.
