Four Huntingdon women’s soccer players recognized with release of USA South All-Conference awards

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Four Huntingdon women's soccer players were recognized as first- or second-team All-West Division with the release of the USA South All-Conference awards on Friday.

Senior Alexis Louk earned first-team West Division as a midfielder and senior Alex Calhoun (forward), senior Kirstin Hayes (forward) and senior Kylie Kersh (goalkeeper) earned second-team West Division honors.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the shortening of the season, the USA South is limiting All-Conference honors to first-team and second-team All-Division recognition this season. As a result, there are no Players of the Year or Coach of the Year awards this season.

Louk, Calhoun, Hayes and Kersh are part of a senior class that helped the Huntingdon women's program put together its most successful four years during the NCAA era. During the past four seasons, the program won 29 games, set the program's NCAA-era single-season record for wins with 11 in 2017 and advanced to the USA South Tournament every season.

This season, Louk had two goals and four assists, Calhoun finished with three goals and three assists and Hayes led the team and was second in the conference with nine goals and 21 points.

Hayes' nine goals this season are tied for the fourth most by a Hawk during the NCAA era and her 21 points are tied for the third most by a Hawk during the NCAA era. With 13 career goals and 32 career points, she ranks second in both categories for Huntingdon during the NCAA era. Louk closes her career as Huntingdon's NCAA-era leader in career assists (14) and is fifth in career points (24).

A four-year starter at goalkeeper, Kersh recorded 42 saves, two shutouts and 10 goals allowed this season. For her career, she finished with 197 saves, a .722 save percentage, 15 solo shutouts, 76 goals allowed and a 1.38 goals allowed average.

She holds Huntingdon's NCAA-era career records for solo shutouts. Among Huntingdon goalies who have played more than 4,000 career minutes, she holds the program's NCAA-era career records for goals allowed and goals allowed average.

Faithe Korponay was named to the USA South All-Sportsmanship team.
