Women’s Soccer Tops MUW

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon Women's Soccer (2-2 overall) defeated the Owls of MUW (1-1 overall) in their home opener, 1-0.

The Hawks started off strong with a quick shot from Laney Bishop that was saved by the MUW goalkeeper. The save did not deter Huntingdon from playing aggressively as they got five more shots off before Joslyn Dahlberg headed in the lone goal for her team, assisted by Anaely Almeida.

At the end of the first half the score was 1-0 and Libby Williams had two saves for the Hawks.

In the second half, Williams stood her ground in the goal with five saves. Offensively, Huntingdon got seven shots off but were unable to soar any more past the Owls goalie. Huntingdon held their stance and fought off the efforts of MUW to post a home opening win.
