MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon Women's Soccer (5-8-1 overall, 3-4 CCS) fell to the Panthers of LaGrange (6-6-2 overall, 3-4 CCS) in tonight's midweek conference matchup.
Angelina Mazza attempted first at the LaGrange goalie in the second minute of the game but kicked it wide left. Both teams went back and forth with five shots a piece in the first half. Libby Williams saved two but at the 42nd minute the Panthers landed their lone goal.
After halftime, the Hawks kept applying pressure, but the LaGrange defense only allowed three shots with one on goal. Williams held strong defensively with four second half saves to hold off the Panthers.
The Hawks return to action on Saturday against Covenant College as they celebrate senior day at 2:00 PM CT.
