Second Half Outburst From LaGrange Downs The Hawks

LAGRANGE, Ga.- In a road CCS showdown with the Panthers, Huntingdon women's soccer(3-7-2 overall, 1-4-1 CCS) started off strong with a 2-0 halftime lead, but succumbed to a second half offensive display from LaGrange(5-7-3 overall, 2-4 CCS), falling 5-2.

How it happened

The Hawks struck early, as freshman Shaylinn McFarland sent one past the Panther's keeper at the 7:37 mark to give Huntingdon the early advantage. Following three consecutive saves from Libby Williams, Laney Bishop capitalized on the Hawks' strong defense, finding the back of the net to extend the lead to 2-0 inside the final two minutes of the half.

Coming out of the halftime break, LaGrange caught fire on the offensive end, cashing in on five of their 13 shots in the half while holding the Hawks scoreless to claim their second conference victory.

The Hawks look to bounce back on Saturday, October 19th at home against Maryville for Senior Day. Gametime is set for 2:00 PM CT.
