Mazza's Lone Goal Enough To Push The Hawks Past Millsaps

JACKSON, Miss.- In their final regular season contest of the 2024 season, Huntingdon women's soccer(5-8-2 overall, 2-5-1 CCS) hit the road to defeat the Majors of Millsaps College(2-13-2 overall, 0-6 SAA) 1-0.

How it happened

Through the early stages of the match, neither team could get the edge, as each keeper recorded multiple saves on the half. After four unsuccessful shot attempts, Xiomara Barnette entered the ball to Angelina Mazza, who sent the shot past the keeper to give Huntingdon the 1-0 advantage at the 40:57 mark.

As the second half got underway, Huntingdon's offense fired off four shots, but none found their way past Millsaps' keeper. On the other end of the field however, the Hawks defense maintained their intensity, limiting the Majors to just one shot attempt on goal for the half, which Libby Williams put away to secure the 1-0 victory.
