Still and Warren earn All-Conference recognition
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon senior Hannah Still and freshman Sarah Warren were both recognized with the release of the USA South All-Conference women's tennis team on Thursday.
Still was named second-team All-Conference for a second straight year and Warren was honorable mention. Warren was also named to the USA South All-Sportsmanship team.
Still is 11-3 at No. 1 singles this season and 12-2 at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. She opened the season with 10 straight wins in singles and 12 straight wins in doubles.
Still is one of just two Lady Hawks to win 100 career matches during the NCAA era. For the NCAA era, Still is tied with former player and current assistant coach Katie Scott for the program record for career doubles wins (54) and is second in career singles wins (61) and total career wins (115). Scott holds the singles record of 63 wins and the total wins record of 117.
Warren is 8-4 at No. 2 and No. 3 singles this season and has teamed with three players for a 10-4 record at No. 1 doubles. The team of Still-Warren is 7-2 this season.
The Lady Hawks (11-3) enter the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament as the No. 3 seed. Huntingdon will play Piedmont in the first round on Friday at 1 p.m. in Rocky Mount, N.C.
North Carolina Wesleyan's Natalia Lopez was named USA South Player of the Year and Meredith's Ran Zhang was named Rookie of the Year. North Carolina Wesleyan's Andres Amores was chosen as the Coach of the Year.
