
Hawks split with Albany State and MUW
DUE TO CURRENT COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS, ONLY HUNTINGDON STUDENTS ARE PERMITTED AT OUTDOOR ATHLETIC EVENTS
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's tennis team split with Albany State and Mississippi University for Women on Saturday.
The Hawks fell to Albany State 7-2 and beat MUW 9-0.
Against Albany State, Alex Burnham won at No. 6 singles and teamed with Alonda Weaver to win at No. 3 doubles.
In the MUW match, Lucy Burch (No. 1) and Weaver (No. 2) each won 6-0, 6-0 in singles and Marisa LaJone (No. 3), Katelyn Morris (No. 5) and Ashley Burke (No. 6) each won in straight sets. Emily Fendley won 8-3 at No. 4 singles.
The teams of Kennedy Harp-Burch (No. 1), Morris-Fendley (No.2) and Burke-Meredith Head (No. 3) earned wins in doubles.
Coming Up: Huntingdon will play Albany State and Georgia Southwestern at Albany State on Feb. 27.
