Huntingdon wins conference opener

MARYVILLE, Tenn.  – The Huntingdon women's tennis team won its conference opener with a 9-0 victory over Maryville on Saturday.

The Hawks won all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead before winning all six singles matches in straight sets.

Madeline Creel (No. 1), Lucy Burch (No. 2), Allison Stegall (No. 3) and Meredith Head (No. 4) won at the first four singles positions. Alonda Weaver (No. 5) and Katelyn Morris (No. 6) each won 6-0, 6-0 in singles.

The teams of Creel-Marisa LaJone (No. 1), Burch-Kennedy Harp (No. 2) and Ashley Burke-Emily Fendley (No. 3) won in doubles.
