Hawks Pick Up Crucial Conference Victory Over Covenant
MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Looking to build off of their win at Maryville last Thursday, Huntingdon Women's Tennis returned to play at the George S. Gibbs Tennis Center, welcoming Covenant College for a home conference match.
The Hawks extended their conference winning streak to two, claiming a 5-2 victory over the Scots. See below for the full doubles and singles results from today's match below.
Doubles
- Lilly Brown and Taji Williams defeated Lauren Carr and Zoe Giuntoli 6-4
- Natalie Tedesco and Ella Hathcock defeated Katie Cummings and Christina English 7-5
- Angelina Mazza and Dalyce Sanders were defeated by Ora Hall and Estee Verdery 7-6 with a tiebreaker score of 7-3
Singles
- Lauren Carr defeated Lilly Brown 6-2 and 7-5
- Taji Williams defeated Estee Verdery in three sets, losing the first 7-5 before winning the next two 6-2
- Natalie Tedesco defeated Zoe Giuntoli 6-2 and 6-1
- Ella Hathcock defeated Katie Cummings in three sets, claiming the first 7-5, losing the second 6-4, and winning the third 6-4
- Christina English defeated Athens DeVer 6-1 and 6-0
- Dalyce Sanders defeated Ora Hall 6-2 in each set
The Hawks look to keep rolling tomorrow, April 5th, traveling to face Agnes Scott. Matches are set to begin at 12:00 PM CT.
