Track and Field competes in BSC Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Huntingdon track and field teams competed in the BSC Invitational on Friday.

The Huntingdon men scored three points and finished 13th in the field of 13 teams. The Huntingdon women scored one point and finished 14th in the field of 14 teams.

The Huntingdon men competed with nine athletes in eight events.

Jalyn Lewis was 14th of 23 in the 400 meters with a time of 54.72 seconds and was ninth of 14 in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.17.

Tyler Shirley was 17th of 23 in the 400 meters with a time of 56.14 seconds and 12th of 14in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:10.21.

Harrison Jackson was 23rd of 23 in the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.32.

Taylor Chestnutt was 21st of 26in the 800 meters with a time of 2:16.94 and 18th of 25 in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:42.97.

Alex Cole was 23rd of 26 in the 800 meters with a time of 2:23.20, sixth of six in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:36.81 and 17th of 17 in the long jump with a distance of 14 feet-4.25 inches.

Will Curtis was 24th of 26 in the 800 meters with a time of 2:23.80 and 16th of 17 in the long jump with a distance of 16 feet-10.5 inches.

Michael Storie was 25th of 26 in the 800 meters with a time of 2:26.68 and 23rd of 25 in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:04.61.

Mac Brooks was 12th of 22 in the 5000 meters with a time of 16:58.76.

Ryan Cole, Chestnutt, Lewis and Shirley finished 12th of 12 in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:50.68.

The women's team competed with two athletes in three events.

Mary Stanley was 12th of 22 in the 800 meters with a time of 2:35.43 and 10th of 19 in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:28.47.

Ashley Davis was 18th of 19 in the 400 meters with a time of 1:09.71 and 19th of 22 in the 800 meters with a time of 2:52.16.

                                                                   

Coming Up: Huntingdon will compete in the Berry Field Day Invitational on April 9-10.
