
Day Two Finalizes The Doc Anderson Multi And Invitational
TROY, Ala.- After a plethora of solid performances for the Hawks throughout the opening day of the Doc Anderson Multi and Invitational hosted by Troy University, Huntingdon Track and Field returned for day two, bringing a close to the two-day meet.
The women's team saw the second day filled with a flurry of solid performances, highlighted by Kate Smith's 10th place finish in the 800m. Mya Farmer also found herself within the top 10 of the 400m Hurdles while finishing just outside in the 100m hurdles. In the field, Trinity Treadway hit a mark of 8.98 meters in the shotput, good enough for 15th place overall.
As for the men, Rory Gilroy continued his exceptional season with a 5th place time of 56.55 in the 400m Hurdles while also taking sixth in the 110m Hurdles. Freshman Mackenzy Crawford followed up on his impressive showing on day one with another solid performance today, taking 10th place in the 400m with a personal-record time of 50.84 seconds. Will Shirley and Grayson Ryland joined suit in following up on their first day of the meet with another fantastic showing, finishing 8th and 13th respectively in the shot put.
For the second time this season, Blake Bailey and Dalan Bunn competed in the 3000m steeplechase, and performed well. Bunn took 7th place with a time of 11:52.69, and Blake crossed the line shortly after in 9th place.
Huntingdon Track and Field returns to action next weekend at the Berry Field Day Invitational.
