Huntingdon sweeps Covenant and Agnes Scott

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Huntingdon volleyball team earned two conference wins on Saturday with a sweep of Covenant and Agnes Scott.

The Hawks beat Covenant 25-18, 25-16, 25-16 and knocked off Agnes Scott 25-8, 25-11, 25-23.

Amy Tyma (21) and April Reese (17) combined for 38 kills in the two matches and Ashley Murphy had 47 assists. Tyma (8), Addison Genard (5), Morgan Ilsley (4), Josie Hester (3) and Lexie DeVuyst (3) combined for 23 aces in the two matches and Tyma (30) and DeVuyst (23) combined for 53 digs.

Records: Huntingdon (17-12, 7-2 USA South); Covenant (6-15, 5-4 USA South); Agnes Scott (0-17, 0-9 USA South)

Notable: Huntingdon is second in the West Division of the USA South Athletic Conference with a 7-2 conference record. Maryville leads the West Division with a 9-0 conference record. Berea, LaGrange and Covenant are tied for third with 5-4 conference records.
