Hawks split Tri-Match To End Regular Season
MONTGOMERY, Ala- Huntingdon Volleyball, (13-17 Overall, 11-5 CCS),defeated Tuskegee University and fell to Faulkner University to end their regular season in a tri-match hosted by the Hawks: 3-0 and 3-2 respectively.
Match one against Tuskegee
Huntingdon defeated the Tuskegee Golden Tigers in their first match of the day 3-0.
The first set started off highly contested with the two teams trading points through 16 points. A kill from Kennedy Chambers off of a Jessi Hilyer assist gave the Hawks a 20-16 lead, and the Hawks would lead for the rest of the set. Huntingdon capitalized on 8 Golden Tiger errors to secure their set victory.
The second set began much like the first with Tuskegee gaining a 10-7 lead early. Huntingdon would go on a 7-1 scoring run to regain the lead 14-11 led by two kills from Ashlen Janowski. A kill from junior Eva Ellenburg secured the set for the Hawks by a score of 25-20.
To close out the match, The Hawks would score a match high 17 kills on 34 total attempts. With an even score of 12-12, a kill from Lindsey Holland sparked another 7-1 scoring run for Huntingdon. Holland, alongside Kennedy Chambers, Ashlen Janowski, and Izzy Valldeperas earned multiple kills in the set to earn a 25-18 victory and match win.

Match two against Faulkner
The Hawks fell to the Eagles of Faulkner University 3 sets to 2 in their final match of the day.
Huntingdon won the first set in a closely fought battle 25-23. Down 21-19, the Hawks went on a 5-1 scoring run to gain the lead late against the Eagles. Izzy Valldeperas continued her strong play from the first match, earning 4 of her 8 total kills in the set. The Hawks had 15 kills over the Eagles 10.
The second set belonged to Faulkner by a score of 25-18. The Eagles capitalized on 9 Huntingdon errors, only committing two of their own.
The Hawks regained control of the match with a 25-20 win in set three. Tied 20-20, a kill from junior Eva Ellenburg gave the Hawks a late lead and they never turned back. 3 late errors from the Eagles boosted the Hawks to close the set.
Faulkner evened the match back up 2 sets to 2 with a 25-22 win in the fourth set. The Eagles 16 kills doubled the 8 from the Hawks, pushing them to a set victory.
The final set of the match began the same way it started; back and forth. Back-to-back kills to earn their 13th and 14th points gave the Eagles a two point lead with a Huntingdon error closing out the match.
