
Three Hawks Take Home CCS All-Conference Awards
MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Just as the conference tournament was getting underway, the Collegiate Conference of the South recognized their all-conference honorees for the 2024 volleyball season.
Huntingdon was recognized by three student-athletes, as Ashlen Janowski and Izzy Valldeperas were named to the second-team all conference while Eva Ellenburg received all-sportsmanship team honors.
A senior from Mobile, Alabama, Janowski followed up on her first team all-conference selection from last season with another outstanding regular season. She finished the regular season with 243 kills(second on the team), 31 service aces, and 165 digs while recording 27 total blocks on the year.
Also a senior, Izzy Valldeperas led the Hawks offensive attack throughout the entirety of the season. The Columbus, Georgia native led the team in kills with 279, averaging 2.29 per set with 136 digs and 66 total blocks. Valldeperas finished 7th in the CCS in hitting percentage and blocks, anchoring the Huntingdon front line.
To wrap up the Hawks all-conference selections, Eva Ellenburg was named to the all-sportsmanship team for the second time in her collegiate career. A senior from Lindale, Georgia, Ellenburg finished second on the team with 290 digs while also recording 76 kills and 10 total blocks.
Janowski, Valldeperas, and Ellenburg look to lead the Hawks as they prepare for their CCS semi-final match on November 15th at Asbury University. Gametime is scheduled for 5:00 PM CT.
