MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team opened its season on Sunday and lost to Rhodes 25-4 at Samford Stadium.
Rhodes (2-0) jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first nine minutes before Victoria Krupa scored the Lady Hawks' first goal at the 20:33 mark. The Lynx closed the first-half with an 8-0 run to take a 16-1 lead into halftime.
Rhodes opened the second-half with five goals before Huntingdon answered with three straight goals. Maddy Morrison, Sarah Brooks and Carolyn Smith each scored. The Lynx closed the game with four goals to take a 25-4 win.
Jade Paul had one assist. Mikalah Bowman had three draw controls while Morrison had two.
Huntingdon hosts Sewanee on Feb. 19 at noon.
