Methodist Stuns The Hawks

MONTGOMERY,Ala.- In a home USA South contest, Huntingdon women's lacrosse(2-7 overall, 2-3 USA South) fell to the Monarchs of Methodist University(9-2 overall, 5-0 USA South) 22-0.

The Monarchs, currently atop the USA South conference standings, flew out of the gates to establish a large lead early and never looked back. At the end of the first period, the Hawks trailed 12-0. Methodist's defense constricted any offensive attack from the Hawks, only allowing Huntingdon to get one shot attempt on goal in the first half, making the lead 13-0 at halftime. The second half saw much of the same, with Methodist converting turnovers into quick, transition offense to walk away with a 22-0 victory. 

Taking a look at the current USA South standings, the Hawks sit tied for 7th place with Pfeiffer University. Huntingdon looks to get back in the win column on April 13th where they travel to take on the Tornadoes of Brevard College. Brevard currently is third in the USA South standings with a 4-1 conference record and a 7-5 overall record. Gametime is scheduled for 10:00 AM CT.
