CLEVELAND, Ga.- Returning to action on the road following their USA South victory against William Peace University, Huntingdon women's lacrosse moved to 1-3 on the season following a 20-5 loss at the hands of NAIA Truett McConnell University this afternoon.
How it happened
The Hawks started off hot, with Payton Hill and Kate Hudson scoring back-to-back goals in the opening three minutes to give Huntingdon the early 2-0 advantage. Truett McConnell responded with three unanswered goals of their own to take a 3-2 lead into the second quarter.
As the second quarter got underway, the Bears continued to pour it on, outscoring Huntingdon 7-1 in the period, with the Hawks lone goal coming at the 4:31 mark, to raise their halftime lead to 10-3.

Kate Hudson put in her third goal of the afternoon at the 9:28 mark to momentarily stop the bleeding, but the Bears still held on to a 16-4 advantage entering the final quarter. Senior Colby Jones scored on a free position shot to start the final quarter, but four consecutive shots from Truett McConnell brought the final score to 20-5.
