Hawks Taken Down At Piedmont

DEMOREST, Ga.- Looking to move to a perfect 4-0 in conference play, Huntingdon Women's Lacrosse continued their four-game road stretch, this time traveling to face the Lions of Piedmont University.

Ultimately, the Hawks took their first USA South loss of the season, falling 24-1 in the road contest as they moved to 3-4 overall on the year with a 3-1 conference record.

The Lions outmatched Huntingdon from the onset, leaving the first quarter with a resounding 11-0 lead that grew to 16-0 by the halftime break. Kate Hudson put in a goal early on in the third quarter for her 34th on the season, but Piedmont continued to pour it on, walking away with the 24-1 victory.

With this win, Piedmont climbs to third place in the USA South with a 5-1 conference record, while the Hawks now sit in the fifth spot in the standings. 

Huntingdon looks to respond on the road this weekend, continuing their road stretch at Methodist University. Gametime is set for 11:00 AM CT.
