ATLANTA – The Huntingdon softball team earned three of the Great South Athletic Conference's top awards for a second consecutive year. With the release of the GSAC All-Conference awards, senior catcher Brittany Richardson was named Player of the Year, senior Melissa McClure was named Pitcher of the Year and head coach Gynger Williams was named Coach of the Year. A total of 14 Huntingdon players were recognized as either All-Conference, All-Freshmen, All-Academic or for Sportsmanship.

CLEMMONS, N.C. – The Huntingdon softball season came to an end with two losses to Finlandia University on the final day of the Great South Athletic Conference tournament. The Lady Hawks lost to Finlandia 8-6 Saturday morning before bouncing back to beat Agnes Scott 4-0. The win over the Scotties set up a rematch with Finlandia in the championship game. Finlandia won the championship game 5-0.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Huntingdon softball team closed out the regular season with a pair of 11-4 wins over Salem College on Saturday. Huntingdon (23-9, 16-0 Great South Athletic Conference) has won 23 of its last 26 games this season and 20 straight GSAC games dating to last season. Entering the conference tournament next week, Huntingdon has won 34 of its last 35 conference games.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Lauren Welch hit a grand slam in Game 1 and Brittany Richardson ended Huntingdon's 7-3 and 11-3 sweep of Agnes Scott with a solo home run in Game 2. The Lady Hawks (21-9, 14-0 Great South Athletic Conference) locked up the regular-season conference title with the wins. Huntingdon, which has won 18 straight conference games and 32 of its last 33 conference games, will close out the regular season on Saturday with a conference doubleheader at Salem.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon softball team remained unbeaten in conference play with a sweep of Covenant College on Tuesday. The Lady Hawks celebrated Senior Day with a pair of five-inning, 10-2 victories. After a 0-6 start this season, Huntingdon (19-9, 12-0 Great South Athletic Conference) has won 19 of its last 22 games. Going back to last season, Huntingdon has won 16 straight conference games and 30 of its last 31 conference games.

LAGRANGE, Ga. – Lauren Welch and Brittany Richardson each hit home runs to lead the Huntingdon softball team in a split with LaGrange on Thursday. Welch was 3-for-4 with a solo home run and four RBIs in a five-inning, 11-3 win in the first game. Richardson hit a two-run homer for Huntingdon's only hit in a 6-2 loss in Game 2.
